History of Nygård Motor Sport
Nils Olav and Stein Håvard were fellow contestants in the same class in 96-97. In 1998 their engine broke down, and they thus decided to join Jan Arve and Odd Erik. This turned out well, and they finally decided to sell both their cars. In the fall of 98, they invested in a car together - a Pro Mod Camaro 69. 1999 got a flying start, and they ended up at 2nd place in the cup. In 2001, they exchanged the engine for a new, second-hand engine and bought a trailer. This proved to be a trying season, with a lot of technical problems. Their trailer even caught fire while they were on their way home from Sko Uno Festival. Consequently, they were not able to race anymore that season. In the fall of 2002, they sold the Camaro and bought a new Corvette 63. They tested it at the island of Frøya in May 2003. The test run ended with a huge crash – low-grade racecourse and too much nitrous oxide... Fortunately, Jan Arve was OK. And that was the end of 2003. In the fall of 2004, they bought the new Corvette that they now use. 2006: Linda joins the team. Stein Håvard pulls out because of a strenuous work load and decides to push for an individual career in 2007.
